When CES made the gut-wrenching decision to cancel their Las Vegas event in 2021, I led my teams at Wunderman Thompson and our partners at Microsoft to deliver the first ever all-digital CES as the world’s largest digital tech event.

Shifting the attendee experience by radically evolving the phased marketing approach and changing the website into a digital venue was the easy part. Helping manage expectations that go along with that shift, and the change management needed to transform a physical event into a digital one is much harder. We propelled both on a very aggressive timeline.
